We’re insured through National Contractor’s Insurance (NCI), a captive insurance program. Participation in a captive insurance program is by invitation and requires applicant companies to qualify by having sound safety management programs in place with performance metrics attesting to their effectiveness.
STC has won several awards from the insurance captive for exceeding performance benchmarks, as shown below.
All of our supervisors and craft workers are trained, as required by the New York State Department of Labor for public work projects performed within New York State, in the OSHA Construction Safety Awareness course (10-hr. or 30-hr.).
All of our craft workers are trained in confined space safety and confined space non-entry rescue, First Aid and CPR. Michael Murphy, our full-time safety director, has forty-five years of experience in occupational and environmental safety, is a certified safety professional of twenty-four years, and is an OSHA accredited instructor for the 10 and 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health courses.
