Reconstruct high lift service area for installation of new 750 HP vertical dry pit pumps inside the historic Colonel F.G. Ward Pumping Station. Project required careful planning of the demolition and excavation work in order to mitigate the severe risks associated with working below the Lake Erie water level. Work included concrete breaking and removal, vertical and horizontal drilling, chemical grouting of soil, pipe jacking, and new concrete construction and finishes to match the early 1900s architecture of the larger pump station. $2M project completed in 2013.
